Tuesday night
Rockcod #296
YO-ZURI SS MINNOW

It's late night.
I thought that I could fish 30 minutes here tonight.
The tide just started coming.

Overhead the moon was shining.
It's very good!

The surface of the sea was flat.
The water was very clear.
Barramundi is very cautious.
Normally, barramundi won't take lures under the above conditions in the day time.

It's no problem!
Because it's in the night time.
Night time began at last to obliterate the freshness of barramundis' alarm.

But I had the other problem tonight.
The water was very, very clear.
Too clear.
Very sensitive lure actions were needed.
I should have brought a spinning rod.

As a result, I couldn't catch barramundi tonight.

Monday night
Barramundi #779-#780
RAPALA FLATRAP 8

The surface of the sea was flat tonight.
Normally, the flat surface is not so good for catching barramundi in the day time.
But there are more chances to catch barramundi under the condition of the flat surface in the night time.

Overhead the moon was shining.
This is a very good factor.

RAPALA FLATRAP 8 / FIRE TIGER is very effective for the night fishing.
But I wouldn't keep using it for a long time.
Probably, 5-7 casts per 1 lure and then the next lure.

Monday night
Barramundi #778
SQUIDGY FISH

The tide was not so bad.
The surface of the sea was flat.
Normally, the flat surface isn't very good for catching barramundi on the shore.
But if it's in the night time, the flat surface shouldn't be bad for my land based barramundi fishing.

The tides were small.
The movement of the water was small.
The water was very clear.
I couldn't expect to catch a nice sized barramundi.

123cm Barramundi
by land based
RAPALA SHALLOW MAGNUM
Mr. Alex Patsalides

Yassou Alex,

I heard that you caught a 123cm barramundi by land based on last Saturday.
I'd like you to give me your fishing data, please.

Efharisto,
Hiro

And here are his data!

☆⌒(*^-゚)v Thanks!! Alex.

Alex drove the car to Browns creek at the mighty Daly river on May 11, 2013.
He didn't use the boat.

The tides at Daly river on May 11 as follows,

6:10am 6.5m
12:05pm 1.9m
17:05pm 6.0m
24:10am 0.4m

When did he catch her?
You could ask him at Fishing and Outdoor World.

Alex used RAPALA SHALLOW MAGNUM / 14cm Colour: BGR.
His lure action: Retrieve, retrieve and pump, pump

Alex used SHIMANO CURADO 300E.
This reel has a 7kg drag system.
Normally, we need a 4kg drag system for catching a metre barramundi.
That's why Alex originally scheduled to catch a real-monster barramundi at that time. I thought.

Main line: FINS 30LB braid
Leader Line: SCHNEIDER 45LB
Rod: GLoomis GL3

Alex works for Fishing and Outdoor World.
These members of Local fishing tackle shops are very, very able anglers.
Much more experienced skilled anglers than me and some friends of mine.
I'm telling you the truth.
They have caught much more metery barramundis than we had caught every year.
Much more metery barramundis than you had expected.
For example, Mr. young George Voukolos have caught ☆☆...metery barramundis by land based every year.
Probably, they think 'The matter need not be proclaimed to the world'

So you could ask them more their secrets for catching big barramundis.
I think that it should be possible.  Or should be very difficult???

My Stella's first Barramundi #776
Killalure Terminator 2

It's just after a very long lay-buy.
My new stella fell off out of the rod holder on my scooter while driving one week ago.
My new stella looks like a very second hand now. ・゚゚・(×_×)・゚゚・

This was my stella's 1st barramundi.

Stella is much better than I had expected in quality and performance.

But my new stella has already had some big scratches and chips on its beautiful body because of an accident.
So I don't hesitate like this above photo. v(。・・。)

Released him gently.

Tuesday lunch break
66cm Urban Barramundi
Reidy's B52
Mr. Brett Parsons

Brett caught a nice sized urban barramundis today.

I received an e-mail from Mr. Brett Parsons tonight.

Hi Hiro,

I got this Barra today in my lunch break.
I wasn't really expecting to catch anything, the tide was running out and I was checking out some new spots. I always take my rod and a few different types of lures whenever I'm checking out new areas.
On about my 10th cast with a B52 5inch olive shallow diver I hooked this barra.
Had a few Queenys have a go at my lure as well.
I was using 30 pound Finns braid with a 50 pound fluorocarbon leader.

Cheers
Brett

☆⌒(*^-゚)v Thanks!! Brett.

Monday night
70cm urban Barramundi #775
TIEMCO MIGHTY PEPPER 70F

Tides tonight as follows,

14:00pm 2.50m
19:37pm 6.38m
02:22am 1.38m

I went fishing to Point A.
Started fishing around 19:45pm.
A small barramundi touched my lure once.

The water was going out.

I used a very light tackle.
Reel was Sustain 1000FG with 14LB Fireline and 40LB leader line.
Rod was a very, very thin and light ST.CROIX.

Lure was a floating minnow with Fire-tiger in colour.
Probably, this very thin and light rod produced a very attractive action on my lure.
A very strong Barramundi took my lure
It took more than ten minutes to land this fish.
By the way, tomorrow's tide is not high enough for this point.

Sunday
Played with my first Stella
Rockcod #292-#294
Flathead #45-#46
Queenfish #14

I received SHIMANO STELLA 2500FE at last.
It's a very long lay-buy.

I couldn't see a very dangerous bump in road at that night.
I was shocked very much when my scooter hit the bump.
Unfortunately, my new stella fell off out of the rod holder on my scooter while driving.
As a result, my brand new stella had many badly damages on its beautiful body.
I hadn't used it.

And I played with my stella today.
SHIMANO STELLA 2500FE was much nicer than I had expected.
Especially its drag system was amazing!

I had a very nice fishing time with Mr. Keith Watson this afternoon.
I hooked a very nice sized barramundi but new stella's drag sound was too good.
I misunderstood it.
had to get the feel of new stella.
As a result, I couldn't keep hooking that fish.

SHIMANO STELLA 2500FE is super!

I enjoyed my new stella very much.

Bluebone by land based
Mr. Tom Marshall

Catching Bluebone on lure by land based is a very new category.
It's very fun with very light tackles.

I received an e-mail from Mr. Tom Marshall last night.

Hi Hiro,

How are you? Its been a long time since this email but I still remembered it. I wanted to let you know that yesterday I caught several small bluebone on lures. They are a different species to the black spot variety which grows much larger.

I caught about six small bluebone, lots of small cod, a couple of jaw fish and one fish I couldn't identify (maybe a type of sweet lip). At one point I caught a cod and bluebone at the same time. Reef shark also took one fish while I was fighting it. I did see a large black spot tusk fish it attacked a small cod that I was fighting! I think it was trying to steal the lure from the cod.

The fish were caught over shallow reef at east point on an out going tide. I was using suspending cultiva mirashad colour 03, 16 lb leader, 10 lb braid. I think I would have been in big trouble if I hooked a black spot on such light gear.

Cheers,
Tom

☆⌒(*^-゚)v Thanks!! Tom.

CULTIVA MIRASHAD suspending is a very good lure!
