71cm Barramundi #1032
Squidgy Pro Mongrel
FG Knot

Of course we knew that FG knot should be an ideal leader knot for fishing on lures.
But it took too long for me to tie it.
That's why I used the kaneit knot or the slim beauty knot depending on the fishing situation, my good fishing friend used the albright knot.

I went to Fishing & Outdoor World the other day.
My good friend, Ron Voukolos explained by demonstration how to tie the FG knot for me.
In addition, he recommended me watching the following YouTube Quickest Way to Tie the FG Knot (The Strongest Braid to Leader Fishing Knot) - YouTube .

The FG knot was infinitely easier than I thought it was.
I can tie it better for me at home than I can tie it at my usual fishing locations.

The tides on the day I went fishing were:
05:02am -- 3.36m
10:28am -- 5.46m
17:52pm -- 2.30m
00:20am -- 5.68m

There was a high possibility that barramundi won't take lures from 05:02am to 10:28am.
There was a once-in-a-day chance, I can only fish in the afternoon.
The muddy water was about to mix with the clear water in the shallow water at Channel Island.
I used a dark-colour Mongrel in accordance with the cloudy-skies situation.

52cm Barramundi #1031
Squidgy Pro Mongrel
Short rain

Today's tides
00:57am--1.03m
07:04am--7.56m
13:22pm--0.90m
19:21pm--7.50m

I reached channel Island before the rain started.
Some middle sized barramundi started chasing mullets when it started to rain.
They came from a place where depth of water was deep.
They were waiting for mullets along the tide pattern formed by muddy water.

I hooked two middle sized barramundi in a short time.
However, those barramundi went away very quickly.
Finally, I caught a 52cm barramundi.

Barramundi #1030
Squidgy Pro Mongrel

I caught a barramundi after 16 days' absence.
So, I finally met!  I've waited so long for this moment.
But it's a very, very small barramundi.

Generally speaking, according to the fisheries fact sheet, as water temperatures cool during the dry seasons barramundi become less active and less frequently.
I too thought that is indeed so.
However, it's the most difficult season for me to catch fish on lures by land based during the first build-up season.
I can catch some nice fish on lures by land based in my usual fishing locations in June and July.
It's very difficult for me to catch fish in the period from the middle of August to the beginning of October every year.

Some people caught some nice barramundi in some places in September, but not in my usual fishing locations.
I have worked hard to improve this situation.

I went to Myilly Point rocks late in the evening.
The tide was coming into the shallow water.

I had a few fish-bites but couldn't hook them completely.
As a result, I caught a very, very small barramundi on Squidgy Pro Mongrel.
