Rockcod #339
57cm Barramundi #1046-1047
Squidgy Pro Mongrel

Happy New Year!
On the 26th of December.
Today was blessed by the weather.
But it will probably keep raining tomorrow too.
I went to Channel Island this morning.
There was no wind.
That meant that there was no fish-bite.
The tide was ebbing.
A breeze started blowing and ruffled the water.
The first fish was a nice sized rockcod.
This strong cod took a 115mm Mongrel.
The hook was damaged by this strong cod.

Nice restaurant sized rockcod on a Squidgy Pro Mongrel 115mm Aussie-Herring colour.

I exchanged a 115mm Mongrel into a 90mm Mongrel.

A sea barramundi doesn't like too much land water.
I had to cast the 90mm Mongrel farther.
By the way, do you know that a sea barramundi takes in much sea water from the sea.
On the other hand, a fresh-water barramundi doesn't take in fresh water very much.

I caught two 57cm barramundi.
Squidgy Pro Mongrel did good work again!

The final fish and chips of this year were very delicious. Beer-battered barramundi goes well with sunflower oil. I think.

55cm Barramundi #1045
Squidgy Pro Mongrel

I'm afraid of the thunder when I fish.

There was a big thunderstorm yesterday.
After dark clouds, I got periods of refreshing good weather in the morning.
In addition, today's big tides brought a large amount of seawater to the shallow waters in my usual fishing locations.
I went to Channel Island in the morning.
Upon arriving at Channel Island, the rain came on.
It was a very short productive fishing window.
A nice sized barramundi jumped out of the water shaking her head.
The two hooks of Maria MJ-1 were bent by this fish.

And then I went to East Point to fish at the next productive fishing window.
The rain clouds just started to gather blackly above me.
I caught a 55cm barramundi on a Squidgy pro Mongrel 90mm/Rainbow-fish.
I used a GLoomis 7'10".
This long fishing rod did good work!
I released this fish into the water.

63cm Barramundi #1044 by Hiro
Squidgy Pro Mongrel
55cm Barramundi by Mr. Connor Martin
Gold Bomber Long 15A

I got up early in the morning and went to Channel Island to fish.
20 minutes' walk on the soft mud brought me to the mud-flat-shallow water.

I found the tide water difficult to go out as usual this morning.
There was no bite of fish for an hour.
At last the water current started moving so well.
I used a very long fishing rod which  was a GLoomis Pro-Green 7'10".
Consequently, the flying distance of my lures could be increased as a whole.
I caught a 63cm barramundi on a Squidgy Pro Mongrel 90mm/Aussie Herring.

60cm Barramundi #1043
Squidgy Pro Mongrel
The wind condition is a crucial factor in barramundi fishing on seashore.

Channel Island, Sunday.
There was a situation that was ideal for the land based barramundi fishing when I got there.
The whole condition was good but the wind in particular was excellent.
I used a Squidgy Pro Mongrel 90mm/Boof-mullet colour for a barramundi with higher activity.
A barramundi soon took it.
For a while the barramundi kept bucking and siding like a vicious horse.
Finally, I caught a 60cm barramundi at the mud-flat in Channel Island.
That was a very good time.
The good conditions last but only 30minutes.
The wind died down. Barramundi moved to the deep water.
It happened many times so far.
The state of being windless makes barramundi have wariness.
The state of being very murky water or strong water current is exception.

The wind condition is a crucial factor in barramundi fishing on seashore.
The wind raises waves on the sea surface.
It moderates the wariness of barramundi in the water.

On the other hand, barramundi won't take lures in the shallow water when the wind is excessively strong,
They probably won't notice lures.
In the first place, their bait fish won't come to the shallow water under the condition like a very wavy water.

The state of being rippled or slight wavy sea surface is very favorable to me when I fish barramundi on lures on seashore.

Barramundi #1042
Squidgy Pro Mongrel
I always decide the day's schedule of my fishing right before I go fishing.

I went to Channel Island but returned to my place without fishing this morning.
My fishing was about to be spoiled by the wind, rain and the lightning.
Luckily, at the last minute, I found very small productive fishing windows in East Point this afternoon.

I caught a small barramundi at a creek and lost two nice sized barramundi on a Squidgy Pro Mongrel 90mm/Rainbow-fish colour around the old-man rock.
I always decide the day's schedule of my fishing right before I go fishing.
