Saturday and Sunday fishing
58cm and 68cm barramundi #970-973
Squidgy Pro Mongrel
Maria MJ-1

It is difficult to catch a nice sized barramundi in my usual fishing locations in September.
So I went to an estuary to fish by my 150cc scooter on Saturday and Sunday.
It was a habitat of crocodile there from every point of view.

I was tired of walking because the ground was very muddy under foot.

Saturday
First, I caught a 54cm barramundi on Maria MJ-1 S90F.

54cm barramundi #970

Next, I caught a 58cm barramundi on Squidgy Pro Mongrel 90mm Aussie Herring.
The leader line was lost by the last 54cm barramundi.
The productive fishing window was not long, therefore, I used the double-braid line for Squidgy Pro Mongrel without using a leader line because I didn't want to waste time for knotting leader line and braid line.

Sunday
The scenery was good around there.

First, I caught a small barramundi on Maria MJ-1 S90F.

Small barramundi #972

Next, I caught a 68cm barramundi on Maria MJ-1 S110F.
This season's saltwater barramundi is comparatively thinner than the cold-season's saltwater barramundi.

Maria MJ-1 is a very effect for catching a barramundi by land based.
The longer I used, the more I like the MJ-1.

The barra that didn't get away!
80cm Urban saltwater barramundi
Squidgies Srick-rig Drop bear
Mr. Brenton Leech

I couldn't catch any barramundi this week.
It's not easy to catch an urban saltwater barramundi by land based in my usual fishing locations in September.
I heard that Mr. Brenton Leech caught a very nice barramundi by land based recently.
So I sought his cooperation for my fishing column.
He readily complied with my request.
I would like to introduce the fishing story of Mr. Brenton Leech as follows.

The barra that didn't get away!
Being only new to the Darwin area I'd been doing a bit of homework of where to go flick some lures for some barra and only being able to fish land based made it even harder to find a spot that holds fish.
After a few days flicking lures around with no luck it all finally fell into place, plenty of nervous bait a good colour change I knew it was only a matter of time before something would hit the Squidgy Slick rig Drop bear that I was flicking around.
Half and hour went by with no interest from anything, then all of a sudden BANG I was on but this wasn't to last as a cracker of a fish jumped out of the water and shook its head and out popped my lure.
I was determined to hook up again, casting into the murky muddy water and BANG this time it was on for young and old, watching line scream off of my reel and feeling the big thumping head shakes I knew it was a good fish, after 5 minutes or so it was all over and I had landed what is my personal best barra to date of 80cm, sure its not the biggest barra but its one that ill never forget.

Even with that, the Drop-bear colour is very effective for catching a barramundi in this season.

68cm Barramundi #969
Sebile Swingtail
Barramundi thinks this lure a crab.

It's very windy in the afternoon on September 5th.

There were two people there besides me to fish.
It's very quiet in fishing.

I thought that I luckily caught a 68cm barramundi.
I alone did it.

This fishing location is in an estuary.
It's much better than my usual fishing locations in September.

Land based, Darwin, NT, Australia

This Sebile Swingtail was hugely successful in this fishing location almost every time in barramundi-fishing.
Barramundi thinks this lure a crab.

I found these above crabs in the stomach of the barramundi.
As you know, it is also an attractive feature of barramundi-fishing that barramundi changes target according to its surroundings.
If you have the sense to see through their certain target-bait during the state of being controlled by one trend or tendency, you can catch a nice sized barramundi even in September.

2 Sept 2015

Mitsutoshi Sato gained a considerable fishing results over a short time during his stay in Darwin.

Mitsutoshi wanted to catch Saratoga and Freshwater barramundi before he leaves Darwin on September 2.
We hired a very nice "Six person BBQ Boat" from Mary River Houseboats.

Only $180 for 5 hours and fuel charged on consumption Very reasonable!

I didn't take my own fishing rod with me because I was the fishing guide for him today.
I guided as I was told by Mr. Dave Krantz, Mr. Leigh Eldrige and Mr. Ash Winks.

Frog and Pumpkin seed did work for Corrobore this time!

He used Z-MAN Hard Leg Frog Z Chart with weedless hook #6 for this nice freshwater barramundi.

He used Berkley Gulp 4" Swimming Mullet Pumpkinseed with weedless hook #4 for this beautiful saratoga.

He gained a considerable fishing results over a short time during his stay in Darwin.
Remarkable!

He caught a 103cm urban saltwater barramundi on Lucky Craft bee-Freeze at East Point.

He caught a metery barracuda on Lucky Craft Bee-Freeze at Night Clif.

He caught a nice queenfish on Lucky Craft Baby-shad at Cullen Bay.

He regrets not being able to catch Sooty-grunter and Black-jewfish in Darwin.
Fishing with Mitsutoshi, I had fun too. Thank you very much.
