I didn't catch any fish in this one week.
Fish knives and sharpners

I didn't catch any fish in this one week.
I was bothered by the difficulties of wind condition.
The sea was running high on account of a seasonal wind in my usual fishing locations.
This wind caused strong agitation of mud and water in shallow waters.
As you know, barramundi normally become active when they are moving about in search of baits in a cloudy water.
They like a murky, cloudy and muddy water.
But, they don't like a dirty water.
They don't like the wave curing the sand, mud or sludge.
The phenomenon is remarkable while the tide is coming into shallow waters.
Not only were there strong winds in this one week, but also it rained heavily.
I have never caught barramundi in my usual fishing locations while it was raining hard.
Normally, it is very difficult to catch barramundi in my usual fishing locations for 24 -48 hours after heavy rain.
In addition, they don't like the seawater containing floating seaweeds, fallen leaves in shallow waters.
Things won't go by theory with a living body.
So I went fishing as many opportunities as time permitted in this one week.
As a result, I couldn't catch any fish on lures by land based.
It didn't mean that the fish did not bite.
The fish have gone to the deep waters.
Conversely, one might say that my theory doesn't have a big gap with practice.
Oh, you are sure I can find some sort of excuse!
Whatever a process is like, everything is evaluated only by results?
I don't think so.
To consider this and that in barramundi fishing, it enhances the strategic character of a game in a barramundi fishing.  I think.
Barramundi is a very good much for one of the world's best game fishing.
If you would be happy in your whole life, it begins at barramundi fishing!
Yeah, I guarantee.
By the way, I bought a new skinning knife, fillet knife and sashimi knife recently.
These are far from being cheap, but these are very nice things.

These are the manner of eating barramundi in my case.

64cm Barramundi #1089
Squidgies Fish 70mm
S-Factor

I caught a 64cm barramundi last Sunday.
I went fishing at Mindil beach in the morning.
The tide was coming into the shallow water.
The water was very murky.
The season has already changed from dry season to wet season.
However, barramundi were still moving about in search of jelly prawn around my usual fishing locations.
I put stinky smell of cream on a soft plastic shad lure.
This method is very effective for catching barramundi in the season of new jelly prawn.
One barramundi quickly took the soft plastic shad lure.
But I missed that fish.
Soon, the next barramundi took the same lure.
My fishing rod was vibrated by impact force in fish pulling and jumping.
You can watch that situation on YouTube.
Exciting barramundi fishing in the city beach.

By the way, I used the head-mount strap for Gopro Hero5 for the first time.
The image was swaying compared to the chest-mount strap.

64cm barramundi / October 15, 2017 / Mindil Beach

I caught and released a small barramundi after that.
The rainy season will bring on mullet to my usual fishing locations.
I'm looking forward to that.

72cm Barramundi #1088
Mangrovejack #50-51
Squidgies Fish
S-Factor

Sunday morning.
It was a high tide in a big tide.
I was thinking about going somewhere today.
This time, the same as always, I can't decide where to go fishing at the last minute.
I must take the weather into consideration first when go fishing.
The wind was high at that time.
So I went fishing at the mangrove swamps.
5 - 10 millimetre new jelly prawn were splashing about on the surface of the water.
I thought that barramundi or mangrovejack were still moving about in search of new jelly prawn.
I am into Squidgies Fish 70mm Lime Lighting with S-Factor these days.
It is a way of dealing with the jelly-prawn season.
I had an intense fish bite when I was winding the lure along mangrove trees.
As a result, I caught and released two mangrovejack, a 72cm barramundi and three small barramundi there.

Boat fishing for the first time in one and a half years

We went fishing on Mr. Nick Paspaley's big boat for three days last week.
I fished on the boat for the first time in one and a half years.
I think you might know this already, my occupation is not a barramundi fisherman in the first place.
I usually work for Paspaley Pearling Co.
The first time I met Mr. Nick Paspaley was in 1988.
He is the first pearl producer to produce the world's best south sea pearls without any chemical treatments.
As you know, Australian south sea pearls are the most beautiful pearls in the world.
Now, the Paspaley pearl is about to branch independently into one of the successions of a pearl name.
Therefore, we are closely related to animal derived from seawater.
These 3 days were very fun.
We enjoyed mud-crab catching, reef fishing, barramundi fishing and tuna fishing.
Because of Mr. Nick Paspaley's guide those fishing all went very well.
I caught a big golden snapper on a 60g jigging lure with a slice of squid.
This reef fishing was required to be skilled in the technique of searching a productive fishing reef.

I caught a barramundi on a hand made lure made by Mr. Bill Jackson by trawling.

This timber lure caused an 'aggressive' wobbling action.
Bill Jackson makes his timber lures possible to create high-quality finished form.

I normally fish barramundi on lure by land based.
The best tide shifts with the best fishing point every hour.
On the other hand, the wind condition operates powerfully on the fishing result for good and bad.
Mr. Nick Paspaley also lightly referenced the wind condition when we were trawling.

Reel: Shimano Curado 300E 7kg drag
Rod: Wilson Live Fibre Territory Barra 8kg
Main line: Fins 30lb braid
Leader line: Schneider 55lb 0.80mm diam.
